Africa Alliance for Health, Research and Economic Development (AAHRED) is non-governmental organization employing volunteer humanitarian action to empower local communities eradicate poverty and the causes of poverty, diseases, and to end all forms of discrimination.
We are committed to peace, social, economic, environmental and gender justice and emphasize the right of all people not to be poor.
We tackle environmental, social and economic challenges from education, humanitarian relief, microfinance for livelihoods, and health.

Our actions help shape agendas and develop potential solutions in poverty eradication and disease prevention through applicable research, capacity building and modeling programs.
we implement through partnerships with local civil society organizations, engaging with government and the private sector, working effectively in coalitions to prioritize the rural and vulnerable poor – women and children as major critical beneficiaries and stakeholders .
We contribute in policy issues leading to all inclusive socio-economic development and universal health.

Mission

To harness potential of communities to help themselves, assume control of local development and improve their standard of living through poverty eradication, Prevention of diseases, and elimination of its causes.

Our Priorities

Poverty

Promote and facilitate the adoption of the most effective actions to combat extreme poverty by ensuring evidence is used to improve the lives of the world’s poor which is possible through:
1. Public accountability, just governance, and the fulfillment of human rights
2. Trade policy and economic justice
3. Gender equality and inclusive development
4. Climate change, food security and environmental health programs
5. Access to capital ,training and ,Markets,
6. Promote technology and innovation
Economic Empowerment and Energy Program
i). increase the productivity levels of poor communities in agricultural practices through the increased use of renewable energy technologies,
ii). build the capacities of rural farmers mainly women to use and maintain clean energy technologies,
iii). raise awareness and educate the public on the use of renewable energy for poverty eradication at the household level and, more broadly, for rural development
We believe in the power of women and the rural persons and are able to work with women and youth -led micro and small enterprises , building their capacities through trainings, hand held support and technical assistance in finance and distribution, business development, partnerships, Marketing, fostering women’s and youth leadership and influencing their local and national environment; starting with a small business, many of these women and youth soon become social leaders in their communities as their self-esteem rise up.

Health

We campaign for universal health coverage ,Social and economic Development where Fairness, social accountability, citizen engagement and good values, Human rights, Gender, Leadership and good governance provide the basic springboard to better living by emphasizing anticorruption approaches in procurement of healthcare system support . Evironmental Health

AAHRED advocate for Health system embracing activities promoting health, prevent disease, and offer diagnosis and treatment based on principles of comprehensiveness, coordination, equity, quality, nondiscrimination, transparency, participation, and accountability to prevent corruption. Health system that ensures that the poorest and most vulnerable members of society have effective access to the services and programs the health system offers.

AAHRED Approaches

We fight poverty and injustice through relief, development actions and advocacy by working closely with partners including governments and the private sector We work with local partners and communities to fight poverty, injustices, respond to humanitarian emergencies, campaign for change, and help people claim the services and rights they are entitled to through appropriate empowerment programs. We aim to end poverty and injustice in Africa by claiming community rights and access to healthcare, education ensure they are not discriminated against for any reason, Help them be more resilient to shocks and disasters such as drought, climate change and calamities and make the most of opportunities, such as being self-reliant.

EDUCATION & DEVELOPMENT

We do Capacity-building training to strengthen the abilities of CSOs as agents of development in rural communities to become active participants in defining and implementing poverty reduction and sustainable development strategies by conducting organizational development and proposal writing training for CSOs and fundraising to strengthen their Program actions
