Smart Water Technologies

Smart water management’s main goal is to enable rational and sustainable use of water resources by leveraging information and communication technologies (ICTs) to provide real-time, computerized data to solve water challenges in organizational and strategic planning at various scales and across contexts and parts of the country.

It is intended to improve water quality and prevent water contamination by chemical waste and natural pollution; enhance the efficiency of existing water systems such as water collectors, treatment plants, and create improved mechanisms for harvesting water. It is also useful for water consumption monitoring to optimize usage of water resources at different levels — within households and communities.
